Here Comes Summer!

It's official in our house. Summer has arrived. It isn't because of the weather or a certain date on the calendar. No. Instead it's when school's out and all the kids are back home.

We drove down to Eugene yesterday and picked up our son for the summer. So glad to have all the kids home.

On the way back to Portland, we had a little traffic jam. We all looked up ahead to see what the problem was. It was a flock of geese. They were crossing the street.

I'd never seen that before.

Oh those geese, don't they know they can fly?

Summer hit us hard this week. Temps into the high 90s. Yesterday it got up to 102! And the humidity is making it steamy...

LOL @ them walking. Silly geese! We're officially done with school too, so the kids are happy. Now I get to spend summer doing the yearbook and planning for next year. Sigh! :)

Ugh, the geese. They are ALL OVER our state. Ever since they brought that plane down in NYC, I've been irritated with them. For the longest time they were protected, and now there are too many of them. But they are pretty to look at.

Go, geese, go!
"Summer" started here on Wednesday too! Tomorrow I can take the kids to the pool. Yay!
Enjoy your summer with all of your children home!

That is the official start of summer--the day school lets out. I often still feel the excitement, the possibility of summer even after all these years.
