NOW FOR EARTH-FRIENDLY FRIDAY:
Winter has come and spring is just around the corner so it's time to start thinking about the garden. One of the best ways to help save the Earth is to compost and it's easier than you might have thought. Check out the info on the compost web page and see what you think. But remember, even a little bit means a lot...less.
So if you're only composting your coffee grounds and putting them back into your garden, that's more than most and it's saving space in the landfills while helping to regenerate your soil. Plus, your plants will love you for it. And we can all use a lot more love. :)

I am inspired by this! I often just throw my grounds out in the garden, but perhaps I will take things to the next level. Thanks.
I'm usually pretty good about being green, but never thought of putting the coffee grounds in the garden. Will do that!
Great tip about the coffee grounds. Our yard is too tiny for a compost pile, but we do have a tortoise that likes veggie scraps!
That's it! I'm moving to the Bahamas! :)
I want to grow a pumpkin garden yet. Question -- if I grow them with coffee grinds, will they be espressoumpkins?
But first I have to figure out a way to keep the bears from eating them. I can see it now -- a bunch of pumpkin faced bears, all strung out on caffeine! 8-}
We're totally into composting & gardening. When my oldest was little we had a lot of land a a huge garden. She called our compost pile "the combo pile"
Love the combo pile! :)
My husband is a huge recycler and I don't mean body size. I'm working to be more green.
Rena: I don't know but maybe if you use the pumpkins to make pumpkin bread - you'll get a caffeine buzz at the same time. :) And bears...I don't even want to think about those. I read about them in the dump bin - WOW is all I can say about that.
I have always wanted to compost, but am so afraid I will do it wrong and the smell will be too much for us and we will have to move...grin...
Brenda: You can buy an accelerator at your local Krogers/Fred Meyer, etc. It helps the stuff break down quickly. And then all you have to do, is dig a hole and put the scraps in there. Or buy a compost bin. Or of course, you could get a snapping turtle.
