Tablescape Tuesday

I'm getting ready for the holidays. I pulled out my tableclothes and plates to see what I still need.

This is what I've come up with so far:

I took some black beans (from out of the kitchen) and poured them into a vase then I stuck the feathers I'd used for my Halloween costume into the beans and added some silk flowers I'd gotten at Joann Fabrics on a 70% off sale. This is one way to make a very inexpensive centerpiece but I think it turned out pretty.

Then I pulled out the candelabra and tried another look:

I love the ambiance of candles and flickering candlelight, especially at the holidays.

It's the season of sharing, so do you have any inexpensive ideas for holiday centerpieces?

Oh my gosh, your table is gorgeous!

I tend to keep things pretty simple here. Most of the time, there's nothing on our table at all. Maybe some cobalt blue glass candlesticks with some creamy white beeswax candles.

In the fall, I tend to decorate with gourds and wee pumpkins. Right now, I have a runner that's a patchwork of squares from felted wool sweaters. It's all creams and tans. On it, I have a green leaf-shaped plate and three small pumpkins.

I'm in the process of making a similar runner for Christmas -- patches from red, green, and cream sweaters. I'll probably fill a Spode Christmas Tree bowl with some ornaments and put that in the middle of the runner.

Wow! Your centerpiece and table are beautiful! Kudos to you for being so prepared already!
We often have lots over for Thanksgiving (but this year we will be going to my mil's), and we have everybody bring a dish so the bulk of the cost of food isn't on one or two people. (or prep!)
One year I made turkey sugar cookies, decorated them and put names on them in frosting for the placecards.

We have a very informal table at Thanksgiving, so I really appreciate your beautiful setting. I love the centerpiece!

I go out back and cut stuff--anything green, red or interesting. Your table is so pretty.
I'm also a fan of clear bowls filled with shiny ornaments.

Love the table decorations...We have done a buffet type dinner for so many years now that I don't remember the last decorations we did for the table...
