Beauty is more than just the outside appearance. Beauty is a combination of the inner and outer person. One way to have inner beauty is to find a way to contribute something to the world. People can contribute in many different ways: it might be art, teaching, volunteering, or (like for me) hair.
I decided a long time ago to donate my hair to the Locks of Love program. I've done it one other time. My hair is super thick so my hairdresser said, they should be able to make a few wigs out of that horsetail--I can only hope.
It took a long time to grow my hair back out so that I would have enough to be able to donate it again. The donation has to be at least 10 inches long from tip to tip. If you are interested in donating, click here for the donation form.

Brenda: It took over a year to grow it out.
Plus on the poll, I'll set up another 'cause I think both are fun to know.

I think you look best with the shorter hair, but I'm a guy and usually try to keep my mouth shut on such topics! :)

Kim, your new do looks great, but I wouldn't call it short. It still looks long to me. Do you feel lighter?
Love your hair! It's looks really great and I think it's awesome you donated it because you have gorgeous hair. But you look great with long or short I think.

Great picture, Kim! It will be perfect for the warmer temps, if they ever come. When my daughter donated her hair, the cut was free. Was that the case for you, or do they do it different from one place to the next?

Thanks David. It helps my self-esteem because I asked my husband what he thought of the cut and he said, "It's just hair, it'll grow back."
Which was his way of saying he liked it longer.

Rena: My haircut was $80 - but that included highlights - and I'm sure some stylists would do the cut for free, as their own donation to the cause. And, it will be cooler - now we just need some HOT weather.
