Saturday Craft Day

How about painting your own easel and frame? Discount stores have bare wood frames. Why not add a little paint and have some fun with your kids decorating them to suit each personality? It's fun, EZ and useful. Plus, it's a great way to show off your personality.

We got these little frames and easels at IKEA but other craft stores have them too. If you do go out and buy some and paint them, please post a picture so I can see how creative you and your kids are.

These are gorgeous! I'm not very crafty, but I think I could probably paint something like that and make dots on it or something. You can't mess up on dots right?

Cute idea...I've been looking for a craft project for kids on the complex to do, so I will have to look for these frames, etc. and see what the kids can create...

Cute! Some day I'm going to do a post on my blog about the other ways in which writers use their creativity...I keep seeing a lot of examples.

I love doing that! I have lots of frames that I painted myself. I have a print in my kitchen of oversized tea cups hanging from a wooden shelf. I found a plain wood poster frame for it and painted it to match the distressed wood shelf in the print. People think it came like that!. I paint everything! Hubby had a cow when I started painted my bathroom fixtures, but he now loves the antique brass!

I wish we had an IKEA here. I'll have to check around at some of our crafts stores. That would be something fun for my boyfriend's daughter and I to do.

wish we had an ikea too. closest is like 2 hrs away. i would prob buy the stuff, leave it in the bag, shoved under my bed, and find it in 15 yrs when i move out of this dump.

Cute idea, Kim. I might do something like this with the boys once we start school. :)
