The tulips are in bloom, the daffodils have blossomed and the scent of corn dogs is floating in the air - at least the oil is heating up around the dugouts and getting ready for the next BIG game. . . close your eyes and listen:
Hey batter, hey batter, hey batter, hey. . .
Almost nothing is more fun than the feel of the sun on your face on the first warm day of spring, holding a red licorice whip in one hand and a corn dog in the other.
What are we all waiting for. . . ?
That all-time American classic, baseball, apple pie and home made ice cream.
So, let's start the season with our first pitch across the plate:

I'm not a fount of baseball trivia knowledge, unfortunately. Babe Ruth, perhaps?
Which team does one usually root for in Portland, Oregon, Kim? The Mariners?
I myself am eagerly awaiting the opening home game of my beloved Yankees today at 1:00 EST. Yay, I can't wait! :)
Yep - it is the Mariners around here but hopefully that will change soon.
Plus, we have basketball, soccer and I actually am always routing for The Knights - my daughter's college basketball team. :)
I'm late AGAIN! Darn kids and that school stuff! I wouldn't have known the answer anyway. I do have a friend from CA who's a HUGE baseball fan. He's collected, with permission of course, a jar of dirt from every MLB mound stadium. His collection is really impressive.
