I agree with Christina. It means something fake, not natural.
That's a funny word! Is it something that sounds true, but isn't?

crap...I was thinking that if fictitious is something made up that factitious would be something true but now Christina et all have me doubting that....sigh...I'll do my best to wait until 3pm instead of looking it up
