So Little Time

Everything seems to take forever and there's so little time left for writing. Between work, family, friends and the dogs - well... it doesn't leave much time for anything else. Here's me and the girls: Kit and new puppy Sasha.

Update on She Loves Me - She Loves Me NOT

The agent told my friend she didn't have enough photographs for her nonfiction picture book (pb) but she did give her the name of another agent (a referral) and said that agent is more into illustrated pb's - so there's still hope...

Agent Questions - She Loves Me - Not

I have a friend who got an email from an agent asking her to call - any time. I figured, "She's going to offer representation." I mean, isn't that the call we're all waiting to make? So anyway, she makes the call and it's a "NO". I don't get it. My friend is going to call me tonight and tell me what happened in that call. I'll keep you posted.

But BookEnds Agency had some good answers to questions about agents: http://bookendslitagency.blogspot.com/

Shakespeare - To Be-lieve or Not

Editorial Ass questions the truth of Shakespeare writing the stories he has been so famous for, here: http://editorialass.blogspot.com/ but no matter what anyone decides, I choose to believe. How can I not, when I've visited his birthplace and seen his gravesite?

And Hamlet's Castle has a plaque attributing the story to William so what's a simpleminded person to believe. I want to be like Virginia and say "Yes there is a . . .Shakespeare who wrote the tales."

To rewrite history, would create too much chaos and wreck havoc on the people who celebrate him.

Writing-a Lonely Endeavor-Kill 2 Birds with 1 Stone

Writing can be a very lonely endeavor but by joining a critique group, you'll improve your social network and your writing - in effect - killing two birds with one stone.

I joined one group that wanted to meet about once a month and liked it so much I had to join another that meets every other weekend. Here's a picture of the group that meets every other weekend - but we're missing Kerry (who just had her baby, Rowan) and Pam.
