Recipe Contest

I was just over reading my cyber-friend's blog, The Happy Whisk, and found out about this contest. Now I'm wondering which recipe I should use...hum...what is your favorite recipe..a cake, a cookie, a cozy banana bread...?

Wednesday Watering Hole

Okay I'm not a big drinker by anyone's standard but this drink is supposed to be like a dessert drink. It's called Cabana Banana:

1 shot of 99 bananas (a liquor)

1 shot coconut rum

a splash of Baileys

Pour over ice and add milk or half-n-half to fill the cup

YUMMMM

And this one is like cake in a cup or something like that

I had three of these this weekend:

T H E   S A L T E D   C A R A M E L   M A R T I N I

1 part Butterscotch Snapps

1 part Kahlua 

1 part vodka 

2 parts half-n-half

Prepare your martini glasses by wetting the rims and dipping in crushed seasalt. Pour ingredients over ice into a cocktail shaker, shake, then strain ice out and pour drink into glasses. Then drizzle caramel sauce over the top and around the rim....YUMMMMMILICIOUSNESS!

I had to make something to say Happy Birthday!

And hopping up on the cakes and Kathryn likes pirates so why not a skull and crossbones to help celebrate that crucial 21st bday?...!

Monday Recap

We had a wonderful weekend in Cle Elum and Leavenworth. We went to see The Sound of Music up in the hills at an open air theater. Hearing The Hills are Alive With the Sound of Music with the mountains in the background was a wonderful experience.

The scenery was breathtaking and Leavenworth was so cute and quaint. If you're ever in Washington, you should try to visit the little city.

Earth Friendly Friday

So do you have any old clothes sitting around the house? Any pants you've outgrown, shirts that have shrunk?

Well, here's an idea. An idea to put those unusable pieces of fabric to good use. Why not make a scrap quilt?

Pinspiration

I love this skirt and when I saw it I thought, I could do that. . . now I just have to come up with the right shape skirt and a bunch of ribbon, lace, and do-dads to make my pinspiration come true.
