Lisa Graff was my inspiration for this
Beauty Blog - well, that and my upcoming 30-year high school reunion and my husband's 30-year reunion, where I'll be his date ;)
Okay, my skin has aged - a lot - over 30 years. So I thought I would start with a facial but, OMG, those things are expensive so I opted for a homemade facial. I used a little mini-spatula to smear the concoction over my face, then I let it dry and finally I washed it off. It was a great exfoliation process. I was hoping to end up having skin looking like:
Okay, maybe that's going a wee-bit young. So how about going for a look like:
Okay, maybe I'm dreaming. But, at least now you can see why I started this process so early. It looks like this beauty-blog project is going to be one LONG experiment. I think I'll do a little bit each week, over the next six months. And, hopefully, I'll see some improvement.
My daughter is even committed to helping me. She started by straightening my hair. I have super-thick, coarse, hair that has a lot of wave to it, so that can be a big job. But we did it.
This was just phase one of my BIG beauty project. I'll keep you posted here on my blog, as I keep advancing (in years but hopefully doing a Benjamin Button on my face).
My husband's 30-year reunion (from Scappoose High School) will be in October and I haven't found out about mine - yet - but, like I said, at least I have a little time to work on this project and, as you can see from my pictures, that's a good thing ;-)

Cool! Looking forward to seeing more.
Anybody who's 30 years out of high school and has super-thick hair -- I'm in awe.
I have a high school reunion in August, maybe I'll jump on the beauty bandwagon! I actually am exercising more, a reunion is a great motivator.
Looking forward to more tips!
Marcia: My hair is like a horse mane. I have it thinned a few times a year - it's crazy.
Kelly: I'm trying to lose the weight I put on while my Mom was sick - that's what I do when I'm said, eat...and eat...and - well you get the picture.
Rena: It's fun taking time for me - since I spent the last 20-something years on the kids ;)
Fun! I love it. I had a facial once. Not sure it was my cup of tea but I said I did it!
Best thing for the face, eat amno acids like salmon. Lots of it right before your big day. Like breakfast lunch and dinner. (It doesn't bother me becasue I love the stuff, but I don't know about you) Exercise helps too. But the salmon will give you a quick kick back in time.
Your skin will GLOW. No joke.
Oh Christina: Maybe that's why I love salmon so much - I just didn't realize ;)
One of my favorite foods is smoked salmon. But, I also love salmon steaks grilled on the pit outside. Thanks for the tip.
I'm working on the exercise part - that's not so EZ though.
I am looking forward to the next beautypost. That is surely amazing and resourceful of you. I still have all the youth in life. I am just seventeen and I am committed to doing home-made facial masks too. I bet that's one thing a girl would always love to deal with. :D
Rhaingel: Ohhhhh to be 17 again. You have your whole life ahead of you. Most of mine is behind me. And, you can definitely see it in my face :) Mom used to say those lines are hard-earned and show character. She said you should be proud of each one - I'd rather get rid of them ;)
I love natural facials! I will have to post some pics of me when I have my tomato paste mask on...grin...
Brenda: Anything with tomato and I'd be tempted to be licking my face :)
I love tomatoes
