Writing Wednesday

So many people are involved in the writing Nano challenge - trying to write 50,000 words in a month. YIKES!! I didn't join in this year - maybe next year, when I'm older, wiser, and - hopefully - a better writer.

Agent Rachelle Gardner did a post on the process of getting published, you can read it here.

But both of these things made me start thinking about the writing/publishing industry and how hard it can be to navigate the writing waters.

I have a couple of manuscripts I'm hoping to get published and the only thing I can say about this industry, at least for me, is:
Waiting is the Hardest Part.

The waiting is so tough! Love the song choice. I'm not doing NaNo either, but it has inspired me to set some goals.

The waiting is sooooo difficult. My hat's off to anyone with the chops to keep after it! Publishing is such a process (to put it mildly).

I dream of doing NaNoWriMo someday when I have all 3 kids in school full days!

Amen!

Waiting is so hard - and there is so very much of it!!!! I'm simultaneously addicted to my email and afraid of it. This business is stressful!

Thanks for posting Rachelle's link, Kim. It's interesting to see all the steps a MS has to go through.

ohhhhh boy! Do I ever agree! I've buckled my seat belt and I've come to accept that it's going to be a long ride.

Good luck with your submissions!

(p.s. you're the winner of my last book giveaway. My e-mail is on my blog so you can contact me so I can get that book to you.

Green Girl: So you aren't a writer?...

Cristy: Yippeeee!!! I love being a winner - especially since it's so few and far between times I actually am.
