QUESTION: Where did the Advent Calendar originate?
With the holidays sneaking up on us, I thought it would be fun to start thinking about upcoming traditions and how they got started, and when.

I don't know but I love that tradition - especially the little chocolates.

I collect Nativity scenes and have a really cool Nativity advent calendar. It's fun to set it up each year.
Rena: My mom used to have the cutest Nativity scenes - I don't know where those went over the years.

I'll have to do a blog post about advent calendars. My MIL made some really fancy-smancy ones for my kids - a Danish tradition.
