A Veritable Smorgasbord

A Veritable Smorgasbord is a typical Danish meal. And, we celebrated over the holiday with a family feast. (Smørrebord in Danish)

We ate so much I gained over 3 and 1/2 pounds in one week. And believe me, it was easy to do. Just check out the spread on this table.

I tried to be selective while picking out my favorite Danish sandwiches, which always happen to be open-faced - at least in the true form of the feast. But, like I said, it wasn't so good for my die...t. :(

Friday I'll be talking about my roller coaster ride with my weight.

How 'bout you - any eating challenges you were able to overcome during the holidays?

Oh, man. That looks delish! I, too, gained weight as I always do over the holidays. I gained almost five pounds in the last six weeks, but I usually lose it by summer! I am already exercising a little more to combat it!

Way to go Kelly. I am exercising but I have to exercise those mouth muscles by closing them.

My weakness? Eggnog! Reading the carton, it doesn't sound TOO bad... under 200 calories. But then you look at the serving size... 4 oz! Are you kidding me? Who drinks only 4 oz besides a newborn? Oh, well. I did have it in place of lunch instead in addition to...

I stuck with my diet over the holidays and actually lost weight. I'm still teetering at 36 pounds lost, but hopefully I'll keep going down. Christmas is always hard, but I have just been liking my new pants too much.

You'll lose those 3 pounds in no time, Kim. Rick ate like he used to just on Christmas Day and gained FIVE. Yes, in one day! Crazy, huh? Good luck!

Oh Rena that makes me feel better - you know the old saying "misery loves company"?

I was feeling so bad about 3.6 pounds in one week...I just got home from zoomba - trying to kick my exercising up a notch or...10

I may have nearly eaten myself into a sugar coma with all the candy and fudge--now I'm detoxing. I never knew smorgasbord was a Danish word! You always teach me new things:)
