Kindle for Christmas

I got a Kindle for Christmas! I've been wanting one of these for a couple of years but, with two kids in college, I just couldn't justify the expense. Now I have one! Yipee!

I've been playing with it. I've only gotten about 70% through the tutorial but, already it's much cooler than I thought. I had no idea it could cruise the net like it can.

I'm enjoying the gift and I haven't even read any books on it -- yet.

I have the Kindle app for iPhone...I download samples all the time and read them but I end up getting the books from the library because I'm too cheap to pay $12!!! There are free books out there...I just can't find very many of the free ones in the kinds of books I read. (Mostly kids' books!)

My girls got them, too, and are loving them so far. They're really into the old, classics and a lot of those are free. Have fun with your new toy, Kim!

Excellent! I've recently become addicted to reading books on my iPhone. So much more convenient for reading on the go when you're riding the NYC subways to and from work, or standing in a long line at the supermarket.

You'll have to let us know how it is when it comes to reading actual books, Kim. :)

My DIL got a Nook and my daughter got a Nook Color. Now if they'll just be sweet enough to let me borrow for a day and compare...

I suggested my oldest grand get one. She's a bookworm and will finish a book the same day she starts it. But she's like me... loves the feel of a real book in her hands. (I feel myself leaning, however.)
