May 5th might be Cinco de Mayo here in the states but did you know that in Japan May 5th is Children's Day?
Celebrating the elderly or the time-wisened individuals is commonplace in Japan but they don't forget about the kids.
This is a great day to celebrate with banners, prizes and candy.
I think we should lobby for a Children's Day here in the states.

May 5th is Children's Day here in Korea too! I did an article about it on an online magazine. I'll have to look for that!
Yep, I think we should have one too. To honor and pay tribute to the children of abuse.
I love the idea of a Children's Day. We have days for everything else.
Children's Day??? Oh, yes. I think we call it "Christmas."

Jean - I never thought of it that way 'cuz Christmas is so much fun for me - of course I'm just a big kid.

My husband's parents told him when he was a kid, "Every day is children's day." And they had HUGE Christmases at their house, even with six kids and a modest income.
