What's on Your Wall Wednesday

I love walking into homes and looking at the way other people decorate their homes. It always leaves me feeling a little more inspired to go back home and do . . . something. Well, I thought I'd share one picture we have hanging on our wall. This is a piece of art my husband inherited when his grandmother died over in Denmark. It was shipped to him and we have had it ever since.

I hope you like it too. And if you want to see some other ideas, stop by Grits and Glamour.

What's on your wall?

Lovely painting. In this room, where the computer is, we have 12 framed C. M. Russell prints. There are other things on the walls too. If fact, we have more stuff than we have wall space so quite a few things are stored in a closet!

What a special painting. You've inspired me to blog about something special on my wall!

Our walls are bare, even though we've been living at our current place for 8 years. I never thought about it until now, but I guess we're not all that hip to the interior decorating thing. :)

That is so pretty. We have a painting of the Field of Dreams--a wedding gift from one of D's fellow ghost players.

Thanks for your comment--I feel better about my drop off mistake now!

That's a nice painting. We don't really have anything like that in our house. We have a couple of Ansel Adams and the rest are pics of the twins.

Great idea. I love seeing what people have on their walls.
What a nice painting - do you know anything about the artist?

Hi Kim...

Just read the note that you left for me over at my place...so glad that you stopped by!

Ohhh...I love this painting! It's just one of those scenes that coin the phrase "A picture paints a thousand words"...it just tells a story! Of course, I enlarged the photo so I could see the details. The little girl's face tells it all...I don't think she's to sure about being out in that boat...and the old seaman seems to understand completely...just look at the glint in his eyes! Hehe!!! This painting is not only beautiful but it's such a treasure too...coming for your husband's Grandmother!!!

Warmest wishes,
Chari

My mother had a print of that painting in her wall when I was a girl!

I have "Old Beach Road" by Albert Swayhoover on mine. It makes me happy to look at the muted blues and greens. I also have a poster of Monet's "Garden in Argentuil" which is very nice as well.

Beautiful painting, Kim!

I've got a mixture of things on my walls. Tiger pictures in my room, family photos in the basement. One of my favorites is a photograph of a mountain lion in the Grand Canyon. I met the photographer while I was there and he told me the story behind it, so that makes it kind of cool.

I love the expression on the girl's face in your painting. We have mostly photographs of family, but we have art painted by my hubby's uncle in the family room, Paintings of fall trees in the living room and many Van Gogh reproductions upstairs.

It's so fun to hear about everyone's different styles.

David: Even bare says something. My sons are both minimalists too.

And Rena, how did I know you'd have animal art . . . ?
