BEAUTY BLOG - LOCKS OF LOVE

Beauty is more than just the outside appearance. Beauty is a combination of the inner and outer person. One way to have inner beauty is to find a way to contribute something to the world. People can contribute in many different ways: it might be art, teaching, volunteering, or (like for me) hair.

I decided a long time ago to donate my hair to the Locks of Love program. I've done it one other time. My hair is super thick so my hairdresser said, they should be able to make a few wigs out of that horsetail--I can only hope.

It took a long time to grow my hair back out so that I would have enough to be able to donate it again. The donation has to be at least 10 inches long from tip to tip. If you are interested in donating, click here for the donation form.

I hope others will consider this program. Plus, please do the polls re: hair on the side. (Thanks)

NEW TOPIC:

I got tagged. This was a tag from Green Girl - by the way, I used to call my Great Grandma (GG)

So, I'm tagging five others (Mom used to say, "one extra-to grow on." So, why not?

The Rules:
1. Go to the 4th picture folder on your computer.
2. Post the 4th picture in that folder (Mine was the one from my haircut for LoL-Locks of Love).
3. Explain the picture.
4. Tag 4 more bloggers.

Okay, so TAG, you're it (hope you'll play):

Kelly Polark

Rena Jones
Christina Farley
Jean Hall
David Batiste

I wish I had the patience to let my hair grow out long enough for Locks of Love...

How long did it take you to grow your hair that long?

Great pic!

I just saw your poll...do you want to know if we like your hair long or short...or if we like our hair long or short?

Brenda: It took over a year to grow it out.

Plus on the poll, I'll set up another 'cause I think both are fun to know.

Thanks for the tag, Kim! I love the picture of you with your gorgeous locks for someone else to use. That is truly a kind gesture! You do look beautiful with long or shorter hair!

I think you look best with the shorter hair, but I'm a guy and usually try to keep my mouth shut on such topics! :)

Thanks for tagging me, Kim! I put up my response over on my blog:

Kim, your new do looks great, but I wouldn't call it short. It still looks long to me. Do you feel lighter?

Love your hair! It's looks really great and I think it's awesome you donated it because you have gorgeous hair. But you look great with long or short I think.

I loved the poll so fun! And I'm going to do the tag thing. Fun!

I've been like crazy busy with my writing class. Eek!

Great picture, Kim! It will be perfect for the warmer temps, if they ever come. When my daughter donated her hair, the cut was free. Was that the case for you, or do they do it different from one place to the next?

Thanks for the tag! :)

Thanks guys. I like the longer look but the care is soooo much easier when it's short(er) :)

Desiree: Now, if only I could BE lighter - the diet is NOT going so well. A friend brought over red-velvet cake today :(

Thanks David. It helps my self-esteem because I asked my husband what he thought of the cut and he said, "It's just hair, it'll grow back."

Which was his way of saying he liked it longer.

Christina: I love reading about your class. I'll be popping over to read more, whenever you post.

Rena: My haircut was $80 - but that included highlights - and I'm sure some stylists would do the cut for free, as their own donation to the cause. And, it will be cooler - now we just need some HOT weather.

Bravo, Kim. Your hair is lovely and will make several more people very happy.

BTW-I accept your challenge. I've posted my photo & I am busy tagging others.

Blessings,
Jean
