TECHY TIP - WORD

One of the control functions I use all the time is Ctrl + F

That is a shortcut for "find" a word. So if I'm looking for a name in my manuscript, I just hit Ctrl + F and type in the word I'm looking for. The cursor will pop to the place I'm looking for.

Another quick shortcut is Ctrl + G

That is a shortcut where I can type in the page number I want to pop to. So say I'm on page 1 and I want to go to page 146, I type Ctrl + G and then 146, WAHLAH, like magic I've been beamed to the coordinates I wanted to find.

Hope this helps you in your writing, revising, and reading.

TECHY TIP - WORD

If you're in a critique group and reading a friend's story, perhaps you print out the page and hand write your comment on the paper. But did you know, all you have to do is click on Insert, then click on comment and type your insight "write" there.

This way you can critique the pages without printing them. This will save paper, money and help protect the planet all at the same time. These are all good things. So try it, you might like it.

Tip for Tuesday - Writing Related - Word Tips

As writers, we all have to move paragraphs now and then. Sometimes we decide to have someone say something sooner or later and set a scene before the dialogue - whatever.

Here's one way to move a paragraph quickly, all you have to do is follow these simple steps:

1. Highlight the paragraph you want to move by triple clicking on it-this "blocks" it.
2. Position the cursor in the "blocked" paragraph you want to move.
2. While holding down the Shift and Alt keys, press the Up Arrow or Down Arrow to move the paragraph.

WAH-LAH, EZ-Smeazy way to move text around.
