Arrrrgh! Love Johnny Depp - he always does a great job as "Captain" Jack Sparrow. So what's not to love about an entertaining couple hours of piratesque adventure?
My favorite line of the movie was, "It's a Pirate's Life for Me".
I didn't think I'd like the mermaids but I did. They weren't too Disney for me. It was a great way to spend a holiday with the family--watching a movie that had great special effects and fun sword fights.
How 'bout you? Did you see the movie this weekend? If not, how did you enjoy your time?

I saw it this weekend -- and it bored me to tears. Sorry to have to say it, but it did. Actually, it bored me to sleep, which is just as bad.
I don't know, it was just too "blah" for me. Not enough of all the cool elements that made the first movie work so well. Blackbeard should have been more fierce and ruthless, and he wasn't. Penelope Cruz was wasted. And Johnny Depp pretty much just phoned in his performance for the paycheck.
So, no, it wasn't enjoyable at all for me. Although, you are right -- the mermaids were very nicely done! That was the only saving grace of the film.
My husband asked me "was there enough action?" There was for me. I'm not a big action film fan.
Plus, I went in to it not expecting to like it at all so I did. I think expectations play a big part in movies.
My daughter saw Bridesmaids - said that was funny - so that's next on my TBS (to be seen) list
This movie is on my kids' summer bucket list--and KUNG FU 2!
I liked it -- a lot. I liked how freakish the mermaids were. But like David said, Blackbeard should have been more ruthless like he was in real life. But for the most part, I enjoyed it.
